The concert features several works of European classical music including Handel’s Water Music Suite, the fanfare from Richard Strauss’s Zarathustra, Russian symphonic music by Tchaikovsky and  Russian choral music by Tschesnokoff. An unusual selection is the song “En Aranjuez, con tu amor”, adapted by a number of artists from Joaquín Rodrigo’s Guitar Concerto. Zenith’s performance will feature a flugelhorn soloist.

Director Mark Petty says, “Our concert will close with Eugené Gigout’s Grand Choeur Dialogué, arranged for organ and brass. Dr. Jean Randall, St. Paul’s Director of Music will perform on St. Paul’s organ. Completed in 2006, this organ is one of the premiere English pipe organs in Southeast Michigan, featuring three manuals, 42 stops and more than 3,000 pipes.”

Audiences of all ages will enjoy the variety of music and the enthusiastic playing of these talented teenagers. Petty’s wife, Carol will provide an interesting commentary on each selection.
